Design Challenge
The goal is to create a brand for oneself through color and pattern, establishing a product line that represents the individuals style and taste. Accurately personify a person as a brand, through creating a color and pattern combination that represents their style. This project will highlight the audience’s emotions, and increase their desire to explore and support young local artists. Building a strong brand for oneself is a greater way to show ones strengths, illustrating the skills and history that have come with one’s own unique upbringing and interests. Building business knowledge, experiencing cultures of the world, and incorporating photography and fine arts skill are all a part of building ones unique design.
Creative Solution
The pattern design is inspired from the fashion, photography, and artwork I have created in the past, as well as, my interest in traveling and the cultures other countries. The Japanese design, from the “sad boi” pattern with the use of anime style eye drawings, and the traditional kimono style pattern in my “koi” design is taken from my Japanese heritage. Inspiration also comes from my love for travel, which is being represented through my “sakura” pattern, and how butterflies move around to other flowers, and bring a part of the last to the new flower they land at. Similar to my design, I wanted to take my past and heritage in a modern way to incorporate it to who I am today.
